98-122 Green Street, Newham

Project: Residential and Commercial

12 flats over 4 shops

Size: 1,530 m²

Location: London, Newham

Client: Metroman

Construction Cost: £2 m, 2003

Redevelopment of a former warehouse site located within the heart of the vibrant Green Street area in Newham. The site formed part of a nondescript set of blocks which interrupted the flow of the commercial shopping parades of the street. The controversial planning application was won on appeal, allowing the scheme to be built and act as a template for similar adjacent sites, thereby stitching the streetscape into a coherent whole, and contributing positively to the reputation of Green Street as a centre for Asian fashion in East London. The development accommodates 4 retail fashion units at street level 12 residential apartments on three upper levels.
